Time 9.00am to 7.00pm

Date : Monday March 11th , March 10th in Canada

Yesterday we went to downtown Melbourne and we walked along the river - Yarra. It divides downtown just like in Chatham. It was a provincial holiday - "labor day" yesterday and there was this thing called the moomba festival. It was the 60th ediition and celebrates the people of Melbourne who have been the lifeblood of the festival over the years.  We where only at Moomba for a little bit then we went to the aquarium.

We had a lot of fun at the aquarium. We saw stuff like : penguins and fish and REALLY BIG STINGRAYS!!!!  We also saw stuff like sharks, eels, snakes and bugs.

Then we rode a tram to the Melbourne aboriginal art Museum. Before entering the museum we had lunch at federation square.  It's an open space where people can come to meet and socialize. there was  a big screen where you could see people in the middle of the square. For lunch my mom and I split gneochi it was really good, my dad had crab cakes and fries,my aunt had tuna and rice.

After lunch we attended the museum. There were scrap metal and barbed wire art, metal fencing art, a video on a teenaged boy acting as a aboriginal warrior, there were shields with arrows in them, drawings of people in white masks, aboriginal finger painting art, and just outside the aboriginal art there was a display and most of the things in the display were made out of cake icing. It was an older time around the 50s or 60s with a real tv, real table, real chairs with the icing on then, icing pizza, icing bottle cigaret and cigaret tray.

After the museum we walked across the street to an alley way where they encourage artists to do graffiti.  There was one in particular that I liked it was an almost lifelike portrait of a native person.  I learned from my aunt that she worked in a restaurant in the area 40 years ago and parked her car in the same alley way where the graffiti artists now paint.
